Dear former participant in the ERASMUS Stakeholders' Meeting,

First European SME week - Call for event organisers

The first European SME week will take place from 6 - 14 May 2009. The SME week is a chance for your organisation to make its services known to local entrepreneurs and benefit from the general publicity for the week. The SME week is an umbrella campaign to inform SMEs about available support at EU and national level and to encourage more people to become entrepreneurs. Events and activities taking place under the SME week umbrella are organised by business organisations, support providers, regional and local authorities etc. The Commission will be providing the framework and the promotional material for the event organisers to use. Every potential event organiser is free to choose the type of event it wants to organise as long as it fits the objectives of the SME week. If your organisation wants to organise an event on SME specifc themes or market its services to SMEs, all you need to do is to fill in the event form on the SME week website, describe the event you plan to organise and send the form to the national coordinators of your country for validation (list available on the website below). The information on the form will then be published on the SME week website. The toolkit for event organisers will be available in the 4th quarter of 2008.

SME week website: http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/entrepreneurship/support_measures/smeweek2009/index.htm

Please forward this mail to other organisations that might have an interest in the SME week.
