The Academy of Humanities and Economics is fast developing, the oldest and probably the biggest non-public higher education institution in Lodz. It constantly expands its educational offer as well as cooperation with other Universities. The Academy’s Department of Computer Science offers a comprehensive curriculum from introductory-level courses to graduate seminars. It focuses on critical research areas. Young people find a unique set of opportunities available to study for the Engineering’s degree, the Bachelor's degree, the Master's degree. The offered programs prepare and qualify students for advanced careers within the computer industry. Political Studies, Journalism and Culture Studies, Management and Marketing Department offer young people the wide range of research activities. The Academy also has the special unit called Polish Virtual University – it is a guarantee of excellent and wide experience in e-learning, probably the largest in Poland. AHE offers study programs and extension courses over the internet. PUV task is to support traditional lectures and trainings as well as promote modern teaching methods. PUV is a competence centre for methodology, technology and organization of e-learning.
The Academy of Humanities and Economics has a great experience in developing and supporting international projects. It is involved with projects in India, China, mainland Europe, all connected to sharing knowledge, development of new ideas and services, capacity building and curriculum building. The Academy has been involved in preparation course syllabus, vocational materials for thematic courses, creation of platforms for international projects. It has also been responsible for dissemination projects’ results.
